Snow can stick to their fur for various reasons.

Their body heat melts the snow and forms little snowballs in their coat.

How to keep snow off of fur and paws

You can do a few things to stop snow from sticking to your dog’s fur and paws.

This makes it easier when you come inside.

First, think about buying your dog a pair of good boots.

These boots shield your dog’s paws from the snow and keep them from getting stuck between their toes.

Dogs might need time to get used to wearing boots.

Start slowly, put on one boot for a few minutes, then two, and so on.

Keep doing this until they’re okay with wearing all four boots for at least 5 minutes inside.

Once they’re comfortable, they’re ready to play in the snow!

Another option is to dress your dog in a sweater, coat, or snowsuit.

These clothes won’t keep all the snow off, but they help reduce the snow on their fur and legs.

It makes it easier when they come back inside the house.
