Nota drags Sol Phenduka after being scammed

Former music executive Nota Baloyi has once again sparked drama on social media, this time pointing fingers at broadcaster and podcaster Sol Phenduka.

Taking to Twitter on 22 September, Nota alleged that Sol scammed him after receiving a booking fee but refusing to deliver on his duties.

According to Nota, he paid Sol R15,000 upfront in May 2022 to host an event he was organising.

While Sol did attend, Nota insisted that he “flatly refused to do the hosting job.”

To support his claims, Nota shared a screenshot of his FNB payment dated 27 May 2022, adding that the incident left a sour taste because Sol never offered an apology.

“Booked Sol to host a gig & he showed up because I paid the full fee upfront, but flatly refused to do the HOSTING JOB. I took it on the chin, but he never apologised for scamming me. They always act innocent!” Nota wrote.

The Podcast and Chill host seemed unfazed by the allegations, clapping back with a cheeky response.

“He has the receipts. He must open a case. Criminality isn’t good. Criminals should be behind bars, not out here podcasting and tweeting amongst us,” Sol said.

Social media quickly jumped in with jokes, with some fans calling for a “commission of enquiry” into the matter.

One user teased, “@Solphendukaa, we need a commission to verify these allegations, my guy, and @ChrisExcel102 would be the chairman.”

Another added, “I’m willing to do a commission of enquiry for both of y’all. I want to get to the bottom of this issue.”
