Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sammy ‘Vieira’ Seabi says he is happy to be back at the club after loans to Chippa United and Sekhukhune United in the last two seasons, and revealed what head coach Rulani Mokwena told him before his return.

Seabi played 24 matches for Babina Noko last term in the league and the Nedbank Cup helping the Limpopo side finish in the top 8 and get to the final of the Ke Yona Cup.

The 28-year-old also shares what Mokwena said to him on his arrival insisted and that he is ready to fight for his place in the team.

“Coach [Rulani] didn’t say much. He just said to me ‘my boy, I want you back, I want you to come and help the team where you can and you must come back and work very hard’,” he explained.

“So that’s what I’m hoping to do, to return that favour because he also gave me the opportunity. So it’s not easy but I will try and work my way back to the Sammy Vieira that I used to be.

“There is a lot of competition but competition is healthy, it makes you grow more. So I’m up for it.

“I’m just waiting for my time, that when I get the time to use my time and make sure I deliver and help the Mamelodi Sundowns’ team achieve the vision and objectives of the family.”

Seabi adds that it’s all about timing and he feels it is the right time to be back with the reigning DStv Premiership champions, even though he is yet to play for them since his return.

“It feels good, there is always a right time for everything but it all comes with hard work, you just have to have that thing to say ‘I can make it’,” said Seabi.

“It’s not the first time I’ve been there, I was loaned. So now I’m back and I’m hoping for the best and I’m going to try to work as much as I can to help the team and to help myself also to improve.

“You know football is a short career, we should try as much as we can to make use of the time that we have.”

Meanwhile through his foundation the Sammy Seabi Foundation the midfielder donated school shoes to three primary schools in the Mankweng Circuit in Limpopo on Friday.
