Kaizer Chiefs appear to have made a bold move by roping in renowned Sports Psychologist Dr. Henning Gericke into their set-up.
Gericke, who holds extensive experience in the game, has worked with the Springboks in their 2007 World Cup triumph, the Proteas and Bafana Bafana when they reached the FIFA Confederation Cup last four.
He was present on the sidelines with the Chiefs squad this afternoon as the squad went through their paces in their warm-up before facing AmaZulu.
iDiski Times understands he’s roped in recently ‘to see if there’s any notable impact’ before the make a final decision on making it a permanent arrangement.
With over two decades of experience in sports psychology, it’s undoubtedly a positive move for Amakhosi who’ve had an indifferent start to the 2023/24 season in their pursuit to end an eight-year trophy drought.
Dr. Gericke previously worked with the likes of the Springboks, several rugby franchises, Bafana Bafana during the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup and ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the Protea cricket team.
