Molefi Ntseki: He’s the most important person we have….

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki is under no illusions about the immense task ahead.

During a media open day held at the club’s village in Naturena on Thursday, Molefi Ntseki reiterated how eager they were “to turn things around”.

Kaizer Chiefs have had a slow start to the season after succumbing to two defeats in the DStv Premiership and a draw.

The early run gives them a point out of a possible nine. Their rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns, have won five out of five, opening a 14-point gap, albeit with two games in hand.

KAIZER CHIEFS’ MOST IMPORTANT PERSON

Amakhosi will look to redeem themselves when they face AmaZulu FC at the FNB Stadium on Saturday [17h30].

The former Bafana Bafana coach has reiterated how much they owe a turnaround to “the most important person” at Naturena.

“I think [Dr Kaizer Motaung] he’s the most important person we have as the chairman of the club, having been with the club for so many years and having experienced so much success in so many years,” he told journalists.

Ntseki said even top coaches and clubs worldwide had gone through rough spells like Chiefs. The Phefeni Glamour Boys have gone eight seasons without lifting any major silverware.

The responsibility to restore the glory days has been bestowed on Ntseki’s shoulders after a disappointing 2022/23 season under Arthur Zwane.

“But if you look at it, some of the top coaches in the world have experienced what we’re going through. Some of the top clubs in the world have experienced what we’re going through.

“The management of the club, headed by Dr Motaung, is trying very hard to rectify what has happened in the past.

PUT A SMILE ON HIS FACE

“Unfortunately, for now, we have just played three matches, and the results don’t put a smile on his face and the rest of the board and the supporters.

“As the technical team and the players, we are fully aware and are working very hard to get things right so that we can all be happy when a big team like Kaizer Chiefs is winning games.”
