New Kaizer Chiefs striker Efmamjjasond Gonzalez Palacios has been handed the number 14 shirt at the club.
The 24-year-old Colombian arrived in South Africa before his official unveiling on Wednesday afternoon and is now awaiting paperwork to be registered at the Premier Soccer League.
With the player now acclimatising to his new surroundings with a five-hour time zone difference, a starting debut is very unlikely against AmaZulu, but the club has announced his new shirt number, previously worn by club legend Siphiwe Tshabalala.
“I am thankful for the opportunity I have been given. It is a dream for me to be in Africa. For me, it is the centre of everything, I am happy to be here and very happy with what I have seen so far. I can’t wait to start,” the player said earlier this week.
Gonzalez scored eight goals in 16 league games for Bolvian Premier League side Real Santa Cruz this season before making the switch to Amakhosi.
