The longest tail on a living domestic cat is 40.83 cm (16.07 in), and belongs to Altair Cygnus Powers (USA), in Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA, as verified on 25 October 2021.

Altair is owned by William and Lauren Powers and is a sibling of Cygnus Regulus Powers (USA) who formerly held this record.
