SSU Set To Loan Out Niang

SuperSport United look to send Senegalese striker Serigne Mamour Niang out on loan with Maritzburg United leading the race for his signature.

Matsatsantsa signed the 24-year-old early in January on a one-and-a-half-year deal, with an option to renew from Senegalese outfit Teungueth FC.

The tall striker made six appearances, including one in the Nedbank Cup but failed to find the back of the net.

This season, however, he hasn’t made the match-day squad after four matches already played after Gavin Hunt strengthened his attacking options.

Matsatsantsa boosted their squad upfront with the likes of Terrence Dzvukamanja, and on-loan Mamelodi Sundowns forward Etiosa Godspower Ighodaro, leading to Niang falling down the pecking order.

With Bradley Grobler also in the queue, Hunt’s side opted to send the striker on loan.

This publication has learnt that recently relegated Maritzburg are the club leading the race to land the forward and he has already started training with the club.
