Former Bay Midfielder Joins PC Rovers

Former Richards Bay midfielder Siphosethu Meveni has completed a move to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Platinum City Rovers.

Meveni, 27, was part of the Natal Rich Boyz squad that secured promotion to the DStv Premiership in the 2021/22 season after winning the GladAfrica Championship – now known as Motsepe Foundation Championship.

But things didn’t go well for ‘Sporo’ after gaining promotion and he was released by the Rich Boyz at the beginning of 2022/23 season.

He immediately returned to his boyhood club Zizwe United, which competes in the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League.

This publication understands that Meveni has now signed a one-year contract with option to extend with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Platinum City Rovers.

Rovers kick off their 2023/24 Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign with a trip to newly promoted Orbit College on 26 August.
