King Ndlovu reunites with his former club

Goalkeeper King Ndlovu, who was in the books of Maritzburg United last season, has officially reunited with a former club.

The 30-year-old spent a season at the Team Of Choice, but the club was unfortunately relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

FARPost reported two weeks ago that Ndlovu was training with DStv Premiership side Royal AM. He was also part of the Royal AM squad that participated in the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup, though he didn’t feature.

This publication has reliably been informed that Royal AM were keen on signing the player. But the FIFA transfer ban was a stumbling block. The club was handed a transfer ban by FIFA after they failed to pay R12 million to former striker Samir Nurkovic.

FARPost has now gathered that Ndlovu has rejoined Marumo Gallants. Before his assessment at Royal AM, Ndlovu had already started training with the relegation club. But he was given permission to try his luck at the DStv Premiership side.

He has now officially returned to Bahlabane Ba Ntwa ahead of the 2023/24 season. Ndlovu spent the 2021/22 season at the club when they went on to reach the Nedbank Cup final.

The Keeper, who was a ball boy during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, has also featured for Black Leopards, Jomo Cosmos and Ubuntu Cape Town.

WHAT’S NEW AT MARUMO GALLANTS?

Meanwhile, Gallants have not officially unveiled their new team in the lower division. As reported previously, Sammy Troughton is currently taking charge of their training sessions alongside Sly Mosala. Players that have remained at the club include Matome Kgoetyane, Monde Mpambaniso, Edgar Manaka, Tebogo Thangwane and Joseph Molangoane.

The club has also moved its base from Polokwane in Limpopo to Pretoria. But are yet to confirm their official home venue.

The Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium was listed as their home venue in the PSL draft list. They might be forced to find another venue as the facility is currently not meeting the required standards to host a professional match.
