  • Tshwane residents in several areas will experience a water outage on Tuesday night due to planned maintenance at the Salvokop Reservoir.
  • The outage will last from 22h00 to 02h00, affecting Arcadia, Pretoria Central, Sunnyside, and nearby suburbs.
  • The city has apologised and urged residents to conserve water.

Several areas in the City of Tshwane will be without water on Tuesday due to maintenance work at the Salvokop Reservoir water supply network.

The work, expected to last four hours between 22h00 and 02h00, will affect areas including Arcadia, Eastwood, Muckleneuk, Pretoria Central, Sunnyside, Salvokop, Trevenna, and surrounding extensions.

Authorities from the City of Tshwane apologised for the inconvenience and urged residents to use water sparingly.

Conservation measures include avoiding garden irrigation during the day, refraining from washing vehicles with hosepipes, and not filling swimming pools.

This warning comes days after the City warned Tshwane residents of the possibility of having no water at all due to the high consumption of water.

The City said if water consumption continues to surpass what the city can cater to, then residents will experience constant water outages.
