Oros Mampofu is a South African actor and TV personality who has risen to fame with his roles in various shows, such as Skeem Saam, Savage Beauty, and Hartklop. He is also a devoted father of two daughters, Aarya and Amani, whom he shares with his partner Bianca Carmichael.
Oros Mampofu spoke to TshisaLIVE about what keeps him grounded and motivated in the entertainment industry. He said that his faith in Jesus Christ and his desire to build a legacy for his daughters are the main reasons he remains humble and happy.
He said that he has learned, seen, and experienced a lot of things in his journey, and he realized that the only person who keeps him safe and secure is Jesus. He said that he has accepted Jesus as his lord and saviour and that he trusts him to guide him in his decisions and actions.
He said: “You transverse in your journey, you learn, see and experience a lot of things and you realise very quickly the person who keeps us under the hand is him. Jesus is really the one. It can all seem like the perfect answer or the novel answer but it is until you’ve experienced everything you realise that this really makes a difference. Knowing I’m safe under him is really good.”
Oros Mampofu’s vision and balance
Oros Mampofu also said that he wants to be an example to his daughters in the best way possible. He said that he wants to show them that they can achieve anything they want with hard work and dedication. He said that he is hungry and aggressive for success, but also anxious and aware of the challenges and risks.
He said that he tries to keep a balance between being bold and confident, but also cautious and careful. He said that he knows that he is not perfect and that he will make mistakes, but he also knows that he can learn from them and grow as an artist and as a person.
He said: “I think my desire, my hunger to be an example to them in the best way possible, it keeps me hungry and aggressive, but it also keeps me anxious and aware. I’m trying to keep that balance because you can move boldly and be confident and crash like that car moving at 180km/h but be too slow and end up losing your opportunities because you are under the shell.
So it’s always this game of figuring out the balance, and always trying to strike a healthy balance and it takes discernment. Obviously we are human, we will fall at some point because we are not perfect. The only person who is perfect is Jesus.”
