Ndlovu & Two More Waiting On Royal AM

While Royal AM boss Shauwn Mkhize battles hard to clear her club’s name from the FIFA ban, goalkeeper King Ndlovu is among those who are waiting to officially join the team. 

Ndlovu is without a club after leaving relegated Maritzburg United at the end of last season. 

The 30-year-old, who one time trained with Orlando Pirates, was fully kitted in Royal AM’s gear as they were facing Richards Bay FC in the Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Legacy Cup, the pre-season tournament, in Ulundi, north of KZN this past weekend.

Ndlovu joins Sibusiso Sibeko and Nkanyiso Zungu as potential new players in the side should the club be able to register them for the upcoming season. 

The goalkeeping department is the area of concern at Royal AM, as Cameroon international Hugo Nyame is set to be out for sometime due to a severe ACL injury. 

It is why the club has swiftly moved on to shore up the goalkeeping department, as they only have Mondli Mpoto and Xolani Ngcobo, who haven’t been given time and were not able to convince in goals, unlike Nyame.

As previously revealed by this publication, MaMkhise wants to get to the bottom of the FIFA ban by paying Samir Nurkovic what is due of the three-year contract he signed at the beginning of last season to end the saga around their transfer ban. 

The former Kaizer Chiefs striker had taken his case to FIFA, who ruled in Nurkovic’s favour. Royal AM then took it to the Court of the Arbitration for Sport (CAS) but it was emphatically thrown out, making the ban standing and leaving Mkhize to have only one option to pay the Serbian international so the ban can be overturned.
