Tina Knowles lit up the red carpet in Beverly Hills this week, turning heads in a striking purple ensemble at the Elizabeth Taylor Ball to End AIDS.

The event, also known as the Night of Compassion, took place on Thursday at The Beverly Hills Hotel. It drew leading figures from entertainment, fashion, and philanthropy.

TINA KNOWLES, FASHION AND COMPASSION

The 70-year-old matriarch of Beyoncé and Solange radiated elegance in flowing satin. She paired her look with bold jewellery and styled her hair in long, soft waves.

Fans praised her online for ageing “with grace” and for her unmistakable confidence.

Speaking on the carpet, Tina said, “I always admired Elizabeth Taylor’s fight against HIV and AIDS. Her legacy shows us that fashion and compassion can work hand in hand.”

The gala raised funds for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, which supports education and treatment programmes worldwide, according to People.

Tables at the fundraiser sold for around £25,000, approximately R580,000, with proceeds going to global health initiatives.

The country remains one of the regions most affected by HIV, with community programmes relying on international support. Guests included industry insiders, advocates, and celebrities showing solidarity.

TINA KNOWLES AGAINST THE STIGMA

Performances and tributes highlighted the late Taylor’s activism, reminding attendees of the star’s fearless campaigning at a time when HIV stigma ran high.

Tina Knowles not only represented glamour but also lent her voice to advocacy. “We must never forget that this fight is global,” she stressed.

“Communities from Los Angeles to Johannesburg need the same care and resources.”

A POWERFUL PURPOSE

Her words and look resonated across social media. Photos of the purple outfit quickly circulated, with many calling her appearance “regal” and “powerful.”

For South Africans who follow Beyoncé’s family as style icons, Tina’s night out was more than fashion, it was a powerful reminder of purpose wrapped in elegance.
