Renowned South African rapper Khuli Chana has reportedly come under scrutiny by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) for allegedly owing over R1.1 million in unpaid taxes.
SARS has taken legal action against the artist, filing a judgment application in the high court in Johannesburg. According to court documents, Khuli Chana Holdings, the rapper’s company, has outstanding amounts in value-added tax (VAT), pay as you earn (PAYE), unemployment insurance fund (UIF), and skill development levy.

The reported debt includes over R426,000 in VAT, which has accumulated to over R615,000 due to penalties and interest charges. Additionally, Khuli Chana owes over R30,000 in unpaid PAYE, which has increased to more than R445,000 with penalties and interest.
