Israeli Premier League club Maccabi Petah Tikva have secured the signing of Ibraheem Jabaar from Stellenbosch FC.
The Nigeria youth international, 20, joins the newly-promoted club for an undisclosed fee after three seasons in the DStv Premiership.
It marks the first player from the club to land a move abroad which was brokered by SSG, with the club living up to its word to not stand in the way of a new challenge for players.
Jabaar joined Stellies in February 2021 within a turbulent period in the world of football during the Covid-10 pandemic and emerged as one of the club’s major success stories.
And it was no surprise to see several clubs make contact with the club, ranging from Austria, Turkey and Belgium but Petah Tikva were the first to make a concrete offer.
With the club known for its impressive development success stories, Stellies will retain a sell-on percentage for his next career move, which bodes well as they look to gain a return on investment on the talented midfielder.
Jabaar leaves the Cape Winelands outfit with 70 games to his name, scoring three times with as many assists over the past three years.
