Doctor lambasts SAFA NEC Member

Bafana Bafana legend Doctor Khumalo has lambasted SAFA NEC members saying they should be concerned with running football right and stop insulting those who dare express their opinions on how they are currently running the game.

This comes at the back of Banyana Banyana’s boycott of their farewell match to the World Cup this past weekend against Botswana.

The selected players going to the global showpiece in Australia and New Zealand did not take part in the match as the ladies staged a standoff with the FA over outstanding matters regarding their World Cup contracts.

Khumalo who is now a studio pundit on SABC1’s Soccer Zone told viewers on Monday night about a certain NEC member who attacked him on social media for his reaction to what happened on Sunday.

The former midfielder added that the NEC needs a hard look at themselves as a unit and see how they have already failed the team before it even left the country.

“You know I got a message from Monde Montshiwa SAFA NEC member saying Chiefs didn’t give me a job, Pirates and SAFA don’t owe me a cent and they didn’t even offer me, he said on Soccer Zone.

“Monde Montshiwa an NEC member. The unfortunate part is that it was a personal attack but he has forgotten that the current NEC members are just there occupying space. This is a South African entity. Any individual in this country is allowed to echo anything regarding football. I’m talking about football and he’s going off about support, a whole NEC member. What he has done is expose that NEC members don’t know anything about the local game. He has exposed that.

“I’m just here talking about football and he’s busy insulting me. And here’s the painful thing I have always raised my hand. I’ve made the first goal in South Africa. I created goals in 1996 for us to have that trophy.

“I’ve made a first pass for this country to be in a World Cup, then comes a Monde, a SAFA NEC member to tell me about the game. He must be full of jokes. What has he ever done for the country?

“In fact, I want to see him face to face because I’m a man and he is talking bad about me on social media. Anybody can ask. I’ve got the right to question President Danny Jordan about what transpired. I’ve got a right to say that, irrespective of which platform I’m using because we saw something that has never happened in the history of South Africa”

“Why aren’t there people who played football there? I’ve just told you guys that this happened to us way back. Look at these faces, the poor ladies. I was there on Friday also to just give them motivation before they could go to the World Cup.

“Little did I know what was going to happen on Sunday. This man Danny Jordan is the SAFA President but we can’t point a finger at Danny alone, it’s the entire NEC. Look at the faces. These kids should have been on the pitch, they should be given what’s due to them now they are sitting in the stands.

“Now this is what Argentina, Italy and Sweden are looking at and saying oh is this our opponent? Those are internationals they know that psychologically, and mentally South Africa is gone.

“They are already preparing their players. Then when the poor ladies exit at the group stages everyone will say Banyana-Banyana is useless forgetting the root of everything.”
