Striker Friday Samu, attacking midfielder Siboniso Conco and goalkeeper King Ndovu are other players who have left Maritzburg United.

The recently relegated side from the Midlands in KwaZulu-Natal has seen many players leave upon the club’s demise to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Samu, Conco, Ndlovu follows Travis Graham, Ali Meza, Wayde Jooste, Renaldo Leaner and coach Fadlu Davids.

The latter has since been appointed as Raja Casablanca assistant to former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer, whilst Leaner has signed for Sekhukhune United respectively.

The Team of Choice’s stay in the DStv Premiership top flight after 15 years was sealed after the club failed to beat Cape Town Spurs in the last game of the PSL playoffs earlier this month.

Ndlovu joined the Team of Choice from Marumo Gallants at the beginning of last season and featured in 16 matches in all competitions, none in the playoffs.

It was the same with Conco, who joined the club after he was released by Golden Arrows and played in 13 matches, but only one as a starter.

Samu fared better of the two, featuring in 30 matches in all competitions, scoring three goals.

The Zambian international joined Maritzburg from Green Buffaloes from his homeland in the January transfer window last year and was instant hit under coach Ernst Middendorp, scoring five goals in 13 matches in all competitions.
