Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Haashim Domingo is one step closer to completing his blockbuster move to Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic.

Domingo, 27, will see his Sundowns’ contract coming to an end by end of June after his representatives and the club couldn’t agree on a new deal, as first reported by SABC Sport.

However, instead of finding a new domestic challenge, Domingo seems to take his career abroad and is wanted by Raja CA, as reported by iDiski Times last week.

At Raja he would link up with former Orlando Pirates coach, Josef Zinnbauer, who was recently unveiled as the club’s new coach and won his first game in charge.

With Domingo’s contract expiring, he can join the club on a free transfer ahead of the 2023/24 season and he will fly to Morocco on Saturday, with the intention of wrapping up the deal, his agent Glyn Binkin confirmed to this publication.

Domingo joined Sundowns from Bidvest Wits in 2020, making 57 appearances for the club during which he scored five goals and set up seven more.

He featured in 17 games across all competitions this past campaign and head coach Rulani Mokwena was understood to be keen on retaining his services.

However, after the club and Domingo couldn’t agree onto a new deal, it seems the lure of the three-time CAF Champions League winners has convinced the attacking midfielder to take his career to Morocco.

Domingo won three DStv Premiership titles, one Nedbank Cup trophy and one MTN8 trophy during his time with Masandawana.
