Mamelodi Sundowns are considering loaning Erwin Saavedra in the DStv Premiership ahead of next season.
With the Bolivia international joining on a long-term contract and an injury-ravaged spell leaving him on the fringes of the first team, the player is determined to prove his worth and not return back to his homeland.
Sundowns also don’t see the benefit of the player moving to a different league where he won’t be able to be monitored under the same conditions as the South African top-flight.
And as they look to recover the player or potentially recoup their investment, a local loan move is being mooted for next season, iDiski Times has learnt.
Saavedra only made six appearances in 2022/23, which was disrupted by several injuries for the 27-year-old.
Overall, he’s made just 10 appearances for Masandawana since joining them from Bolivar in February 2022 in a deal worth a reported $1.2 million, which equated to R18.5 million at the time.
