AKA’s rental arrangement surprises fans as landlord cancels lease agreement posthumously.

In a surprising turn of events, it has been revealed that renowned rapper AKA was actually renting his home, contrary to popular belief that he owned the property.

The revelation came to light after AKA’s landlord, Nthsimane Mekoa, terminated the lease agreement shortly after the artist’s tragic passing.

According to a close friend of AKA, who wished to remain anonymous due to fears of victimization, the house in question was not owned by the “Company” hitmaker.

Instead, he was paying a monthly rental fee of approximately R40,000.

The friend further clarified that the misconception arose due to AKA’s lavish lifestyle and his choice of cars, leading many to assume he owned the property.

Despite having paid his rent in advance until September 2023, AKA’s landlord instructed the Forbes family to remove the rapper’s furniture, citing new tenants moving in.

Allegedly, the family complied and relocated AKA’s belongings to storage without any objections.

A neighbor, who disclosed that AKA had lived in the house with his former girlfriend and media personality Bonang Matheba, confirmed that the property has had new occupants for over a month now.

AKA’s Landlord Response To The Media?

Responding to these claims, Nthsimane Mekoa denied allegations of evicting AKA or having any disputes with his family.

He also refuted the statement that the musician had paid rent in advance.

Mekoa emphasized that details of the lease agreement were confidential and solely between himself and the late artist.

Murder Investigation Update

In an unrelated update, National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola confirmed that progress has been made in the murder investigation of AKA and his friend, celebrity chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

Masemola assured the public that they have identified the individuals involved and are actively pursuing them.

The murder of AKA, affectionately known as “The Supa Mega,” and Tibz occurred on 10 February outside Wish on Florida Road in Durban when two gunmen opened fire.

As the investigation continues, authorities remain determined to bring the culprits to justice.
