Kaizer Chiefs have won a legends Soweto Derby on Sunday, beating their bitter rivals Orlando Pirates 3-2.

Legends from both Soweto giants were facing each other in a charity match for the Tonic Chabalala Foundation at Malamulele Stadium on Sunday.

The Chiefs team, which saw legends such as Doctor Khumalo, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Josta Dladla and Thabo Mooki put their boots back on, ended up beating their counter parts from Soweto.

Katlego Mashego opened the scoring for the Buccaneers from the penalty spot after 13 minutes, but their lead didn’t last long, as Frank Makua equalised for Chiefs just four minutes later.

David Radebe turned the game on it’s head after giving Amakhosi the lead after 36 minutes, with Chiefs carrying their one-goal advantage into the break.

Morgan Gould found himself on the scoresheet just after the break to make it 3-1, while Mashego completed his brace after 80 minutes to make it an interesting final 10 minutes.

However, Chiefs managed to bring their lead over the final whistle to claim bragging rights in the Soweto Derby.
