Red-hot Khanyisa Mayo was named Player of the Season by Cape Town City during the club’s awards gala over the weekend.
Mayo, 24, has been in incredible form of late, scoring eight goals in the last eight league games – a run during which City only scored 11 overall.
His superb goal-scoring run has seen him level Peter Shalulile on 12 goals in the chase for the the golden boot, with both having one game left to play.
As a consequence, Mayo was named Player of the Season at the club’s awards gala, which was held behind closed doors, with no journalists being invited.
Meanwhile, centre-back Taariq Fielies was named Players’ Player of the Season, while 20-year-old Jaedin Rhodes won the Young Player of the Season award.
