Rise & Shine Promoted!

Polokwane City are the 2022/2023 Motsepe Foundation Championship winners and have been promoted to the DStv Premiership after massive drama on the final day of the season.

Ahead of the final round on fixtures, three teams remained mathematically in with a chance to top the table, and Polokwane City started the day in third place.

But both Cape Town Spurs and Casric Stars dropped points and it was only Polokwane who could win on the last day, as they jumped from third to first with a 4-0 victory over Pretoria Callies.

Cape Town Spurs salvaged a late 1-1 draw with AmaTuks but it was too little, while Casric Stars drew 2-2 with All Stars.

It was also final games in the second tier for already relegated Tshakhuma and Black Leopards. While there has been talk that Lidoda Duvha may buy another statuses, these current franchises have been demoted to the ABC Motsepe Foundation leagues.
