THE controversial Dr Nandipha Magudumana shocked the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court in Free state on Thursday, 11 May, where she was supposed to apply for bail.
Dr Nandipha, through her lawyer, reserved her constitutional right to be released on bail.
Her lawyer, Advocate Frans Dlamini, submitted to the court that his client would apply for bail on Thursday, 16 May, when she appears alongside her boyfriend, convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester.
Magistrate Motlholo Khabisi agreed with the submission and Nandipha’s team was excused from the court proceedings.
Dr Nandipha is facing several charges, including violation of a corpse, arson, defeating the ends of justice, aiding and abetting a convicted prisoner to escape from lawful custody.
She was charged alongside Senohe Matsoara, Motanyane Masukela, Tieho Frans Makgotsa, Teboho Lipholo, as well as Natassja Jansen.
The state continued to oppose bail for the remaining accused. – Daily Sun
