Rulani Sends Message To His Haters

A visibly upset Rulani Mokwena has hit back at his “haters” and people who say “anyone can coach” Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mokwena celebrated his side’s 2-0 win over Marumo Gallants more than some other results, with the composed victory giving his side a chance of breaking the points-record in the DStv Premiership with a win in their final game against Maritzburg United.

After the final whistle, Mokwena could be seen celebrating, letting out more emotions than he often does. When asked after the match whether it was somewhat of a message to his critics, he explained that his “haters” motivate him even more.

“I take it [the criticism]. As much as I take the praise in the good moments not so hight and the bad moments not to low,”

“The people say ‘anyone can coach this team’, they are right. But I can tell you not everyone can work as hard as I do. And not everyone get it [the team] playing the way it plays.

“So I take it, I take it. It’s good. It gives me, believe you me, it [the criticism] gives me a lot of energy.

“The haters they give me a lot of energy, they are the ones that make me spend sleepless nights and make me work very, very hard.

“So I take it [criticism] and I welcome it.”

Sundowns moved to 69 points on the DStv Premiership table from 29 games and could reach 72 with a win against Maritzburg on match day 30, which would see them break their own record from of 71 points from the 2015/16 season.
