1936 | Amy Mollison flied from England to Cape Town in 3 days, 6 hours, and 26 minutes, breaking the previous record. She was the first ever woman to fly by herself. In 1941 she died.
1992 | A botched robbery resulted in the savage death of three employees of a McDonald’s restaurant in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, and the permanent disability of a fourth. First “fast-food murder” has occurred in Canada.
1991 | Fireworks factory in Sungai Buloh, Malaysia, caught fire and exploded, killing 26 people.
1986 | Patrick Morrow, a Canadian, became the first person to ascend all Seven Summits.
