Truter – No One Is Secure

Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter says no one is secure as far as log positions are concerned except for teams in the top four, insisting every team still have it all to do in the remaining last two matches of the season.

Truter saw his side drop two points at home against TS Galaxy at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Wednesday night, which saw them drop to seventh place on the log with 36 points from 28 outings.

For the majority of his tenure at the Limpopo side Truter has spoken about the ambition of staying in the top 8, even dreaming of a top four finish, however, they still have to face CAF Champions League hopefuls Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United in a tough final two league games.

Outside the two big matches, Sekhukhune are still involved in the Nedbank Cup and the coach says their run-in will require mental strength.

“Mental toughness at that stage… It’s the big ones in terms of Pirates in Orlando and then SuperSport here as well,” said Truter.

“We have to fancy ourselves, at home we have a good record as well and we will draw honours from that.

“I’m sure Pirates will come out in that game wanting to overturn the result here as well but they are also involved in the [Nedbank Cup] semi-final.

“But for us, I think everybody plays everybody except for the two that we are playing. I think they are secured in the top 8 but below us everybody is playing everybody still.

“Galaxy is playing Chippa, Swallows have some big ones, AmaZulu have some big ones as well. So it’s down to results. I think we have stay focused and stay positive until the end.”
