SuperSport’s performances have been linked with increased attention off-the-pitch and they have now secured another major sponsorship deal.

The club announced on Thursday, that they have partnered with Huawei.

“Tonight it gives me great pleasure to announce a new-old partnership, because we’ve had this partnership before,” SSU CEO Stan Matthews said on Thursday.

“I’m here to announce that we’ll be partnering with Huawei, our new technology partner.

“It will help to track the players on and off the field.”

The new sponsorship comes just three months after they announced iKhokha as the club’s new sleeve sponsor.

Matthews gave more insights into the new partnership via a press release: “Football has had a technological explosion in recent years with data analytics and performance measurement driving recruitment and retention decision making around players.

“It’s absolutely critical for us as a club to be at the forefront of the technology revolution which means trusting our performance hardware and the data, we can access from it.

“In HUAWEI we have a globally recognized partner at the cutting edge of the technology industry with products and features that can give us a competitive edge on our fellow rivals in the PSL.”
