Marumo Gallants will face Tanzanian giants Young Africans in the CAF Confederations Cup semi-finals after sensationally eliminating Pyramids.

Despite struggling in the DStv Premiership for large parts of the season and some financial troubles around the club, Gallants have defied the odds and reached the last four of the CAFCC.

They beat money-rich Pyramids 1-0 at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday to advance 2-1 in aggregate and become the fourth South African side to reach the semi-finals of the competition.

They will now face Young Africans in the next round after the Tanzanian champions defeated Nigerian side Rivers United.

A goalless draw in the second leg was enough for the Ligi Kuu Bara leaders after they had beaten Rivers 2-0 away from home int he first leg.

Yanga, just like Gallants, have reached the semi-final of the a CAF inter club competition for the very first time in their history.

Earlier this season, Pitso Mosimane visited Yanga and had some inspirational talks and training sessions with the Tanzanian giants.

Meanwhile, ASEC Mimosas eliminated Monastir, thanks to a 0-0 draw in Tunisia after beating them 2-0 in Ivory Coast last week. Their opponents will either be USM Alger or FAR Rabat, with the Algerian side carrying a 2-0 home advantage into the second leg, which kicks off at 21:00.
