Chivaviro Attracting Widespread Interest Amid CAFCC Exploits

Marumo Gallants striker Ranga Chivaviro is attracting widespread interest across the continent as he continues to shine in the CAF Confederation Cup this season.

Chivaviro is currently leading the race for the Golden Boot with five goals, while he netted one more in the preliminary round of the competition to secure a place in the group stages.

After his goal in the 1-1 draw against Pyramids in Cairo in their first leg quarter-final on Sunday, it took his tally to 15 goals in 25 games this season across all competitions.

It marks an incredible change in fortunes for the 30-year-old, who was clubless in the off-season after a short stint with Venda Football Academy in the second tier.

iDiski Times has it on good authority, that the big three in Tanzania; Simba SC, Young Africans, and Azam have all expressed interest in his services for next season.

With his contract set to expire in June, there’s been interest from North Africa as well, with Future Football Club among a host of clubs keeping tabs on his situation.

Gallants do hold a one-year option to extend his stay but can only be activated with a mutual agreement with the player.

And as he’s now within his peak and entering the best form of his career, it’s likely he will explore options outside the country come the end of the season.

He spent one season in Kosovo with KF Trepca 89 but proved to be an ill-fated stint due to the global pandemic at the time – and he returned to South Africa after playing just five games.
