Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has confirmed Dillan Solomons has been ruled out to face Royal AM in their Nedbank Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

Chiefs are on a run of six matches without defeat heading into the clash in KwaZulu Natal this afternoon but come up against one of their bogey teams.

“We have lost Dillan Solomons, who was sick. He has not been able to recover for this game and will not be available. We will see how we balance our squad and see who can come in for him,” Zwane told the club’s website.

Zitha Kwinika is likely to be roped back into the starting line-up while Siyabonga Ngezana has often filled in at right-back during the absences of Solomons and Reeve Frosler.

A John Maduka’s side come off from an impressive 3-1 win over Stellenbosch and will have their tales up with a CAF Confederation Cup spot up for grabs for the team who reaches the final this season.

“We are playing a very difficult game, away against Royal AM, a team that has been very difficult to beat, even at home,” Zwane added.

“We are looking forward to the game. The guys look ready, we know how important it is for us to get a win so that we can proceed to the next round of the competition.”

Amakhosi face off against the KZN outfit at Chatsworth Stadium this afternoon at 18h00.
