Motloung tweeted at the club a month ago, and says that there was no satisfactory contact from anyone at Chloorkop.

“Interesting concept and name you have there. I wonder who might have sent you a proposal with a very similar concept and name. It is what it is I guess. @Masandawana,” Motloung wrote.

He now claims that much has happened but also not happened and has chosen to come forward with a full blown accusation of IP theft.

In a follow up tweet, Motloung wrote: “It’s been over a month now since I posted this “cryptic” tweet & a lot has happened & not happened since then. I have kept quiet to protect the image of the club I’ve been in love with since I was 10 years old but my hand is being forced now. THREAD.”

The club responds

Mamelodi Sundowns issued a response to Motloung on social medai, inviting him to appear on said podcast to speak about the alleged pitch.

The official Mamelodi Sundowns twitter account responded: “Dear Thabiso. The Club is surprised & shocked by your public accusations. We want to understand where these allegations come from. We’d like to give you the opportunity to share your full proposal on the next episode of The Pitchside Podcast. We look forward to your response.”
