Mkhize Compliments Downs Over Record Title

Cape Town City captain Thamsanqa Mkhize has complimented Mamelodi Sundowns over their record-breaking title, but insisted his side must be fearless against them tonight.

City will face Downs on Tuesday evening after the Pretoria side already wrapped up the league title on Saturday when SuperSport United failed to beat Chippa United.

Eric Tinkler’s side is expected to do a guard of honor for Masandawana and Mkhize understands that it won’t be an easy game facing Downs but he’s confident that they might come back home with positive results.

The veteran defender also credited Sundowns for how they do things, saying credit must be given to the players and club.

“I don’t want to lie and I’ve said this before that whatever they do at Sundowns, it’s spot on. I have to give a compliment to them, not only do they sign quality players and you can also look from the outside that the club is well structured,” Mkhize told iDiski Times.

“They’ve got quality players and we also have players who believe in themselves, players that have confidence and they know they deserve to play for a team that is winning.

“So it will be a game whereby we also have to go and play with confidence and be fearless, play our  game, play football the way you know hopefully we can come back with the positive results.”
