Banyana Banyana head coach Desiree Ellis named a 23-member squad set to travel to Serbia as part of their 2023 FIFA World Cup preparations.
Ellis had initially announced a locally dominant squad which was in camp this previous week impressing her and the technical team.
The match against the 35th-ranked side is another step in preparing for the Women’s World Cup to be hosted in Australia & New Zealand later this year.
Since winning the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and sending a youthful squad to the COSAFA Cup, Banyana has been tested against Brazil, Australia, Uzebekisatn and Slovenia for international friendly games as they head into their second successive World Cup.
The maiden appearance in 2019 proved to be a baptism of fire with defeats over Spain, China and Germany before returning home.
Ellis and her troops will be looking to build on momentum following a good showing in their first camp of the year in the Turkish Cup.
