Ghanaian Referee To Officiate Bafana Match

Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Laryea has been appointed by the Confederation Of African Football (CAF) as the referee for Liberia versus Bafana clash.

The Lone Stars will host South Africa at Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium, the encounter is expected to be electrifying as both sides aim for a spot at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

After a 2-2 draw in South Africa four days ago, the Liberian side grew in confidence and hope to end 22 years of waiting. A home win or goalless draw or a 1-1 would be qualify the hosts for AFCON, while Bafana Bafana need a win or a draw higher than 2-2 to book their ticket.

Bafana last qualified for the continental showpiece in 2019 when they crashed out in the quarter-finals in Egypt under Stuart Baxter’s guidance against Nigeria but wrote headlines for knocking the hosts out.

CAF have appointed Ghanaian match officials to be in charge of the game as Daniel Nii Laryea will be the man in the middle, assisted by his fellow countrymen Kwasi Acheampong Brobbey, Emmanuel Dolagbanu, and Adaari Abdul Latif, and the match commissioner is expected to be the Gambian international Bakery Jammeh.

The game will kick off 16h00 Liberian time, which is 18h00 South African time. There’s only one slot left out of this group after Morocco was confirmed as qualified after these two sides played a draw at Orlando stadium last week
