Kaizer Chiefs can finally sign R20 million star

A player who Kaizer Chiefs have been monitoring for some time now looks set to become a free agent!

Last season, the Glamour Boys struggled bitterly in front of goal.

The Amakhosi then welcomed Flavio Silva and Etioso Ighodaro to Naturena to remedy their striking woes.

And now, a prolific striker who Kaizer Chiefs have previously been interested in signing, is back on the market!

Kaizer Chiefs target Khanyisa Mayo back on the market

Kaizer Chiefs’ path to signing former Cape Town City star Khanyisa Mayo has been cleared!

This comes after Algerian giants CR Belouizdad opted against registering him for the 2025/26 campaign.

Mayo made 41 appearances for the Algerian side, scoring six goals while assisting one more.

Previously, Mayo was strongly linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs.

“Before his move to Belouizdad, Mayo was close to joining Chiefs. His agent Basia Michaels confirmed at the time that Amakhosi were moments away from signing him,” a Citizen report read.

“Michaels also revealed that Mayo was keen to join Chiefs, the club that his father, Patrick Mayo, played for during his playing career.”

Should Chiefs sign Mayo?

Should Kaizer Chiefs attempt to sign Mayo again? Do you think he’ll uplift their attack?
