Mayo, Lepasa, Silva, last signing

Kaizer Chiefs could bring in one more striker before the PSL transfer window closes in the coming weeks.

So far Amakhosi have signed 10 players, including two strikers. Having parted ways with Ranga Chivaviro, Chiefs signed Flavio Silva and Etiosa Ighodaro this transfer period but another top striker could actually make them a top team to beat.

So far, the Glamour Boys have the best defensive record in the league having conceded zero goals in five matches.

Which striker can Kaizer Chiefs sign?

Former Orlando Pirates striker Zakhele Lepasa is available as a free agent. The lanky forward was linked to Durban City but according to the club’s head coach, Gavin Hunt, the move looks unlikely.

“I let the management handle it; I’m not getting involved, [but]I can only do what I can do,” Hunt on signing Lepasa.

“We all know we need to certainly get another one or two in. We’ve got 17 outfield players with three keepers. So you need to get one or two obviously, in certain positions.

“We know that, we’ve known that since the start of the season, but obviously, free agents. There are a lot of things we need, let’s not kid ourselves.”

Kaizer Chiefs could finally sign Mayo

Khanyisa Mayo is set to leave CR Belouizdad in the coming days but will he return to the PSL? The ex-Cape Town City forward was heavily linked to Chiefs before he left for Algeria last year.

“It was my decision, and it was not an easy one,” Belouizdad head coach Sead Ramovic told iDiski Times.

“Mayo is a true professional, and I have the utmost respect for him. But in football, it’s about timing, the right role for the player, and the overall strategy of the team.

Kaizer Chiefs target Khanyisa Mayo available

“At this stage, I believe a new challenge would be the best opportunity for him to continue playing at the highest level.

“I truly wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.”

Should Chiefs sign Mayo?
