Mamelodi Sundowns returned to DStv Premiership action on Tuesday evening when they hosted Royal AM at Loftus Versfeld.

The Brazilians were fresh off an incredible CAF Champions League victory over Egyptian giants Al Ahly over the weekend.

And took little time to continue their momentum at Loftus. Cassius Mailula gave the Brazilians an early lead after 11 minutes of play.

Ricardo Nascimento then had a moment to forget against his former side Mamelodi Sundowns!

The Brazilian defender and goalkeeper Zakahle Xolani Ngcobo were involved in a comical mix-up at the back. Take a look at the goal below.

“A huge congratulations to the Yellow Nation’s supporters.” the Mamelodi Sundowns coach said as quoted by IOL.

“Today, they showed what is needed from them in the Champions League. As I said, they needed to be our 12th man.

“They needed to sing, they needed to bring their drums and to make the atmosphere as hostile and uncomfortable for the opposition.

“That is what they did today. I think this is what helped us, even in the second half under difficult conditions.”
