Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane says the continued absence of Sabelo Radebe is due to the player ‘not being himself’ in training of late.
Radebe, 23, emerged as one of the leading talents from the club’s academy and starred in their DStv Diski Challenge squad which brought optimism about his future.
The former South Africa U17 international eventually made his debut in the DStv Premiership in May 2021 but he’s since just featured 13 more times in the first-team.
Questions have been raised over why he’s only been afforded 48 minutes of football – but Zwane had called for calm of the midfielder.
“I think… I know Bibo [better] more than anyone of us in this room and unfortunately, at training at this point he hasn’t been himself,” Zwane said in the pre-match press conference on Thursday at the Wanderers Sports Club.
“He’s been trying very hard, working very hard and any time soon he will get his opportunity.
“But as you know, the results… it’s been hot and cold and when you trying to get the combinations right, there are injuries here and there. Bibo will also get his chance when the time comes.”
