Polokwane City returned to the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table after the latest round of fixtures.

City moved back into first spot on goal difference after their 2-0 win over bottom team Black Leopards on Sunday.

The action began midweek when La Masia continued their good form since Aschwin Sutton took over, picking up a good 2-0 win over Hungry Lions.

On Friday Shaun Bartlett’s Cape Town Spurs team’s march towards the top of the table moved on, as they picked up a good 1-0 away win over Uthongathi, Ashley Cupido scoring his tenth of the season.

On Saturday, Casric Stars missed a chance to increase their lead at the top of the table, as they needed a late equaliser to draw 1-1 away at Tshakhuma

JDR Stars grabbed a late winner in a 1-0 win away at Magesi, Pretoria Callies and Platinum City Rovers played to a goalless draw, and there was a good 3-1 win for Baroka over Limpopo neighbours Venda Football Academy

In Sunday’s other fixture, All Stars lost 3-1 at home to AmaTuks.
