Marumo Gallants have secured a maximum six points in their opening two Group A games in the CAF Confederation Cup with a 2-1 away win over Saint Eloi Lupopo on Sunday.

After beating Al Akhdar 4-1 in Dobsonville last week, they followed up with an impressive win against the Linafoot side, with the game being played out in Ndola, Zambia.

Lupopo refused to use the Stade TP Mazembe, which was offered by their rivals and were made to travel to South Africa, which likely played into the hands of the South Africans.

Mpho Mvelase opens the scoring in the 24th minute for the side led by interim head coach Raymond Mdaka which set the tone for an impressive attacking display.

In-from Ranga Chivaviro netted his eighth goal of the season, – which was his fourth in three games in the competition to double the lead just before the break.

The home side rallied back in the second half and managed to grab a consolation eight minutes from time through Patou Kabangu, but it was too little too late.

Gallants now sit at the summit ahead of second-placed Algerian giants USM Alger – who knocked Cape Town City out of the competition.
