Kaizer Chiefs take on Golden Arrows this afternoon in the DStv Premiership at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Chiefs host the fixture with a renewed sense of confidence after advancing to the last-16 of the Nedbank Cup with an away win over Maritzburg United.
A win against the KZN outfit could move them level on points with third-placed Orlando Pirates, while 13-placed Arrows could shoot into the top-eight with three points.
It’s all to play for this afternoon with in-form goalkeeper Brandon Petersen admitting the preparation has been good in mid-week and they looking forward to the challenge.
“Going to Polokwane has been good for us, we have good success in Polokwane, the only thing not so nice is the drive but I mean if you drive that long and come out with a result, I don’t mind driving, so I’m feeling confident,” he said earlier this week.
Coach Arthur Zwane also emphasised that the game is imperative for victory as they look to secure back-to-back wins ahead of the Soweto Derby.
“They all know how important this game is for us, we missed out to climb the ladder, to put a little pressure for position two, against Galaxy, we should have done better in taking our chances,” Zwane said.
“We had the game in our hands and didn’t capitalise, so here’s another opportunity for us to make sure we climb the ladder, as much as we know it’s not going to be easy.”
