Royal AM Confirm Thikazi Blow

Royal AM head coach John Maduka has confirmed that in-form winger Mfundo Thikazi will be out for two to three weeks.

The 23-year-old has been instrumental for Thwihli Thwahla this season, having been involved in six goals for the club in all competitions.

Thikazi who has scored in two KwaZulu-Natal derbies that have been played this season will miss the clash against SuperSport United on Saturday.

Maduka explained that Thikazi won’t be available for possible two to three due to a knock injury that he picked up in training just before the Nedbank Cup game against Cape Town City, which they won 4-3 on penalties.

“Mfundo Thikazi is out for two weeks have a knock two days before this game that we just played,” Maduka told journalists.

“So we have no choice, it’s one of the things. He got a knock, he will probably take two to three weeks then he will be back.”

Royal AM will aim to continue their upward trend when they face Gavin Hunt’s second-placed side this at home today.

They continued to winning against Golden Arrows just days after Maduka’s return, while they also booked their last-16 Nedbank Cup ticket.
