Cyan Boujee allegedly loses thousands of Instagram followers amid Russia program backlash

Cyan Boujee’s Instagram numbers reportedly drop

Cyan Boujee is once again the center of controversy as social media users turn their attention to her Instagram account.

The influencer and DJ, who recently lost her 1.8 million TikTok account, is now said to have shed hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram after promoting the controversial Russia Alabuga program.

Despite issuing an apology, critics have continued to call her out, insisting she must face the consequences of endorsing the work-study initiative currently under investigation.

At the time of writing, Cyan’s Instagram account reflected around 898,000 followers, with some users claiming she previously had over a million.

One X user, @Nkabiikazii, drew attention to the decline by sharing a screenshot and writing: ā€œFrom a million followers to this? She messed upšŸ‘šŸæā€

Reactions to the supposed drop have been mixed. Some argued that Cyan never had a million followers in the first place, while others posted evidence of her follower count decreasing.

A few fans also came to her defense.

ā€œInstead of fighting the root of the problem, they are fighting another victim. As South Africans, we will take time to find peace,ā€ wrote @MigthyLiverbird.

Meanwhile, @Shiax25 pushed back strongly, saying: ā€œIt is now high time we citizens make sure every celebrity who believes they are larger than life feels the consequences of their reckless behaviour. Let us stop hyping women/men who feed our young society nonsense… I say, ā€˜Let there be carnage!ā€™ā€
