The ABC Motsepe League edges closer to the climax, with teams continuing to go all out to secure a first-place finish in their respective streams to stand a chance of qualifying for the third-tier national playoffs.
On the other hand, it was a tense affair for other title contenders, who are desperate for playoff spots with the hope of gaining promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
In Limpopo, it was a weekend full of drama as the game between Phinnet City and The Dolphins did not take place because Phinnet did not show up.
Whereas, PJ Stars and Ngwaabe City Motors encounter also did not play reason being that ground was not marked.
Over to Gauteng, Senaoane Gunners were embarrassed on their own turf after receiving a 6-2 whipping by Dube Continental over the weekend.
However, Jomo Cosmos failed to close the gap on top following their 1-1 draw against Leruma United. Cosmos are currently placed second in the Gauteng ABC League table with 44 points, just four points behind log leaders Dondol Stars.
Meanwhile, Kgoloko Thobejane’s side Som United suffered their second defeat of the campaign after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Kgotsile.
Despite the defeat, the United remain in second place top of the table with 21 points in Stream A of the North West.
