Kaizer Chiefs were held to a goalless draw by TS Galaxy in a DStv Premiership encounter at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Both sides were looking happy to knock the ball around in the opening stages of the showdown.

However, as the first half wore on, it was the visitors attacking and the Rockets scrambling to get back.

KAIZER CHIEFS IN CONTROL

Amakhosi continued to look to be the brighter team, as the Mpumalanga club gave the ball away so cheaply sometimes.

But, Sead Ramović’s men needed a bit of magic to shake things up and take command of the showpiece.

Unfortunately, Galaxy couldn’t create much when they were in control of the clash.

The Soweto giants, on the other hand, kept on frightening the life out of the home side till the half-time break.

The game went into the interval with a 0-0 scoreline.

In the second stanza, Arthur Zwane’s charges had chances to put the game to bed, but it was never meant to be.

Whereas, Galaxy had offered little threat in front of the Glamour Boys’ goals.

The unfazed Chiefs never stopped bossing possession and getting into dangerous areas – hoping to break the deadlock.

TS GALAXY DOWN TO 10-MAN

In the 55th minute of the second half, Galaxy were down to 10 men after Marks Munyai received his second yellow card.

As the clock ticked towards 90 minutes, it was end-to-end stuff as both teams were searching for a late goal to claim maximum points but luck was not on their sides.

In the end, the Rockets and Amakhosi were left to rue missed chances in a goalless draw.

As a result, Marumo find themselves on the 10th position on the table with 23 points after 20 games.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are currently placed fifth on the log standings with 28 points from 19 outings.
