Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has praised new striker Christian Saile Basomboli after he assisted his side’s second goal.
The Amakhosi collected their first win of the year, beating Royal AM 2-0 at Peter Mokoba Stadium.
Saile replaced striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana after 55 minutes and was immediately involved in the second goal, setting up Ashley Du Preez.
After the match, Zwane praised the 22-year-old for his superb cameo off the bench.
“He gave us that extra oomph we were looking for,” he said on SuperSport TV.
“And we were so much, so much, so much aggressive, we gave them no space, we were pressing them.
“We knew that in the middle, we were in that mental battle. We just needed to be a little bit aggressive now going forward.
“And when he came on, he gave us that and that’s why we managed to score the second goal.”
Chiefs next face TS Galaxy in the league, with the Rockets coming into the game on a high after beating Golden Arrows 4-0 on Sunday.
