Marumo Gallants head coach Dan Malesela sees plenty of positives in his side’s game despite a recent poor run.
Bahlabani ba Ntwa have failed to pick up a win in their last seven DStv Premiership games. Malesela was speaking to the media after they suffered a 3-2 defeat to Lamontville Golden Arrows on Wednesday night at the Princess Magogo Stadium.
He believes they didn’t deserve to lose the match after being on the front foot, particularly for the most part of the first half.
MARUMO GALLANTS COACH DAN MALESELA SEES POSITIVES DESPITE POOR RUN
“For us to come here and play the way we were playing, you really don’t expect us to lose,” he said in response to FARPost.
“I think it’s this phase that we must just go through, and the sooner it ends, the better.
“The biggest consolation is that the players are really prepared to fight. I’m just worried about the games going by, and we’re not collecting three points. That’s a big worry.”
When asked what has been missing in their game, Malesela says they’ve been doing it all but luck hasn’t been on their side.
He believes they dominated their recent previous games, however, couldn’t come out with the desired results.
‘WE JUST NEED LUCK’
“I think we just need a bit of luck. That’s all we need,” he added.
“We’re going through a spell that just needs luck. Because even in the previous matches, if you ask the teams that played us, they’ll tell you that we dominated.
“So long as we go on conceding goals, we’ll have a challenge. We just need luck and to stop conceding.
“Because we’ll score, one or two, we’ll score.”
Gallants are currently rooted in the 16th place on the DStv Premiership log standings with 15 points after 19 games.
They have a tough task ahead against Orlando Pirates in a match that will take place at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday, 28 January at 8:00 pm.
