Former Kaizer Chiefs winger and iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye was happy to prove naysayers wrong about Orlando Pirates forward Kermit Erasmus.
Erasmus finally scored his first league goal for the Buccaneers in their 4-1 thrashing of Stellenbosch FC on Sunday.
Khanye, who has been a supporter of ‘Romeo’ all along, highlighted how valuable the striker is with his skills, handling pressure, helping a team play in pockets and his ability to score with both legs, while also discussing the performance of Monnapule Saleng.
“It was the first time I saw Pirates playing in pockets but did you see how much of a star Kermit was? Boy, keep it up. He is star, he is my star. He is s top dog,” he said on iDiski TV.
“Saleng made a very good decision with that ball. All those boys are talented but they have had the wrong development.
“I mean Ndlondlo and Saleng, there are a lot of players. A lot of these players have natural talent but they jump too quickly into the national junior levels.
“A talented player needs proper development. These players should be at another level. Just look at Saleng’s decision making, you can see he is talented but his development was wrong.
“Yes, he did well, I think he created three chances, and if he made the right decisions the score should have been seven.”
Khanye also believes that if Pirates continues to play like how they did against Stellies they can go toe to with Mamelodi Sundowns.
